Meredith's Monday Musings: Giving

Hi Everyone!

How’s everyone’s week going so far? Only one more week until Christmas. Yay! That’s super exciting! I can’t wait for this holiday. :-)

Today’s Meredith’s Monday Musing topic is all about: Giving. 

If any of you really know me, you know that I love giving presents. There’s just something so special about the whole process. I know, I know, call me crazy. 

Before I purchase my present, I really try hard to put myself in the person’s shoes and see what they might need. If they don’t need anything, then I try hard to think about what they like/don’t like. This makes the biggest difference with if the person will enjoy their gift or not. Once I have this all in mind, I go searching in the store or internet. I really try to take my time and not rush. That’s the key. When you have to rush to buy someone a present, that’s when they usually don’t like it. At least, that’s how it’s been for me. Anywho, once I have the gift in mind, I wrap it because who doesn’t like getting to open a gift?  

Here comes the part that I love/hate. I love it when the recipient sees it for the first time and they’re eyes light up and I can tell how much they enjoy what I purchased. It makes me so happy! Here’s the part I hate. Once the shock wears off, they want to keep thanking me for their present and I become the center of attention. I don’t mind getting thanked, but when others are around and they comment, I’m not a fan of that. I prefer to do things behind the scenes.
