Meredith's Monday Musings: The Big Bang Theory

Hi Everybody!

Happy Monday! Can you believe that it's already the end of March? I can't believe it! Can any of you? Today's Meredith's Monday Musing is all about: The Big Bang Theory!

I LOVE The Big Bang Theory! It has the right amount of drama, comedy, science references, romance, and action in it. The plot is fairly believable and the actors/actresses seem to have great chemistry with one another.

The thing that I really enjoy about it is, it focuses on the lives of characters who would normally get ignored. If you look at most of the shows today, the shows focus on characters who work in the healthcare field, as a lawyer, or as a cop. (This isn't to say that ALL shows focus on this, but I believe most do.) Anyway, I really enjoy that The Big Bang Theory focuses on nerdy scientists. It allows viewers to watch a show from the perspective that they usually wouldn't get to see. Viewers can discover that being a nerd is okay and can even be fun.

Furthermore, I really like that this show empowers women to join the science field. Sadly today, I feel like women aren't encouraged as much as men are to join the science field. This is really a shame. I hope for the women who watch this show and see that two of the main characters are women and in the science field, it'll give them the courage to go into that field too.

Additionally, I love all the Marvel, D.C, and Star Wars references in this show. Being a fellow geek myself, I can appreciate when the characters talk about their fan theories. It's also hilarious when Leonard and Sheldon dispute a theory and Sheldon gets so upset.

I also love that this show has "silent" references to some of the actors/actresses past shows. For instance, the actor who plays Leonard also stared in the show, Roseanne. He had a pretty steady girlfriend throughout that show and she's made several appearances on The Big Bang Theory to act like Leonard's girlfriend. Another example is the actress who played Penny also stared in the show, 8 Simple Rules. The actress who played her mother on that show, also played her mother on The Big Bang Theory.

Overall, this is a great show and I really enjoy watching it!

That's all for now. Have a great week, everyone!

Meredith's Monday Musings: Can "turn-ons" change?

Hi Everyone!

Happy Monday! How's everyone doing so far? I'm hoping that y'all are having a great start to your week! Today's Meredith's Monday Musing topic is actually more of a question and that question is: Is it common for a person's "turn-ons" to change? (I'm not sure if "turn-ons" is the right word, but we'll have to go with it, because it's the only word that's coming to me.)

I'll need to explain this question for everyone to fully understand it. When I first got introduced into the erotic genre, I stumbled upon a few non-consensual stories and hated them. Being the newbie that I was, it was too much for me to read these stories because I didn't understand them. I vowed that when I became an author, I was never going to write a non-consensual or even dubious consensual scene in one of my stories ever!!!

Fast forward two and a half years later and after reading multiple books, getting to understand the genre much more, I can now understand why people like reading and writing these types of scenes. In fact, I realized that I began to enjoy reading some of them, there are others that are still too much for me. (FYI: I'm not judging anyone who enjoys reading or writing hard non-con scenes, some of them are just too much for me.)

Anywho, I was starting to enjoy reading these types of scenes and then, I found myself writing my first ever non-con spanking scene AND a dub-con sex scene. I was shocked that I was putting either of these scenes in one of MY books after vowing to never do so. To make sure I wasn't going crazy, I read over the scenes I wrote about a week after writing them and they turned me on as much as they did the first time I wrote them.

After reading over them, it made me realize how much my "turn-ons" had changed from way back then to now. It makes me wonder if some of my other current "turn-offs" will change with time.

That's my story, now back to the question: Is it common for a person's "turn-ons" to change?

That's it for now. I hope that everyone has a happy Monday!

Meredith's Monday Musings: Why I like age play!

Hi Guys and Gals!

Happy Monday! How was everyone's weekend? Mine was fantastic and I'm hoping that this week will be as good as this weekend was. Today's Meredith's Monday Musing post is all about: Why I love age play.

There are many reasons why age play is awesome and for each person who participates in it, the reason why they love age play is different. For me, I love age play because it's so relaxing.

In real life, I'm the person who tends to be the group leader, who tends to make sure that everyone knows what his/her task for the day is and that they're okay doing it. I enjoy this, I really enjoy the responsibility of working with co-workers and making sure the tasks assigned by our boss gets done in a timely and efficient manner. When I'm not working and at home, I'm the one who takes charge to make sure the house stays clean, that there's food in the fridge, and all the bills are paid. Honestly, I wouldn't have this any other way...most times.

There are times when the stress of keeping everything organized and running smoothly gets to me. That's when I like to put some comfy pajamas on, turn a children's show on Netflix, cuddle with one of my stuffies, and forget all my woes. Regressing is a time when I don't have to worry, I can let someone else do it. As a person who worries an incredible amount, it's really nice to take a break from it every once and awhile. Normally after an evening of this treatment, the next morning I'm ready to face the day head on.

If I don't have the luxury of time to take a night off from all of my responsibilities, I try to spend at least thirty to sixty minutes, reading or writing an age play story. Both of these activities are a great way for me to slip into the mindset of a character and regress through them. Also as a writer, some of my best age play scenes have been written during this time.

Besides age play being relaxing for me, it's so much fun! Who doesn't enjoy getting to play with stuffed animals or going through a bright and shiny sticker collection? There's no rhyme or reason for how something has to be, it can just be fun and that's awesome!

This is why I love age play and it might not be the same reason why others love age play. Guess what, that's OKAY! Each person is unique and when it comes to age play, I've learned there's no right way to go about things.

That's all I have for now. I have to get to work.

Happy Monday, Y'All!

Meredith's Monday Musings: Pesky Muses!

Hi Everyone!

Happy Monday! How's it going for y'all? I feel like I'm struggling a bit. This author needs a vacation. Thankfully, one is coming for me soonish. ;-) Today's topic for Meredith's Monday Musing is: Pesky Muses.

I love my muse. She has given me a lot of great story ideas over the years. Without her, I wouldn't be able to be an author. With that being said, she sometimes drives me crazy. (Yes, I know I sound a bit crazy referring to my muse as an actual person, but all you authors should understand what I mean.)

Lately, I've been very busy with other real life things and have had hardly any time to write. During the times that I haven't had time to write, my muse is talking to me nonstop. She has played out almost an entire book in my head with some seriously fantastic and kinky scenes in it. This is wonderful, except I don't have anytime to write, when these scenes are playing in my head. That isn't so wonderful.

So since my muse wouldn't zip it, I sat down twice last week for a meager hour, with the hopes that I could jot some of this story down. What do y'all think my muse did when I tried to write? If you guessed sat there quietly, while I stared at a blank computer screen, you'd be correct. This frustrated me so much!! Right now, I have limited time to write and when I try to write, my muse won't speak to me. But, if I'm super busy and can't get to my computer to type my story, my muse won't shut up.

So for now, I'm not really spending anytime writing, but I at least get to replay my stories in my head. I hope soon I can jot some of it down so the rest of you can enjoy my story.

That's all for now. I have another busy week ahead of me that I have to go face head on.

Have a great day, everyone!!
