Meredith's Monday Musings: Mondays

Good Morning Everyone!!

How are y'all doing? I hope that everyone had a fun and safe Fourth of July!!

Today's topic is one that I think everyone can relate to in some way, shape or form...the hatred of Mondays.

From as early as I can remember, everyone I know has always hated Mondays. Back when I was in first grade, my teacher would always grumble about Mondays. I even made her a card once over the weekend to try and cheer her up on the following Monday.

If I were to google Monday memes right now, they would all be a little depressing. For example, there might be a picture of a person or a minion with their head bent down, captioned, "Ugh! It's Monday!"

Personally, I don't understand why people are so against Mondays. For starters, Mondays have done nothing to us. It's not like, every Monday the entire population gets fined 100 dollars for existing. That would be a cause to get cranky. Seriously, Mondays haven't done anything to us to get us to hate the day so much.

Personally, I like Mondays because I look at them as a chance to start a fresh week. Maybe last week didn't go so well and when Monday comes along, I know it's a fresh start and I can aim to make it a better week than the one before. I also like to make up two lists on Mondays. One list is a shopping list, so I know what food to buy for the week, so I can make my meals. The second list is a chore list. I'll add to this list until Wednesday when I finally start to do the chores.

Yes, I know that Mondays are the days that take us back to work and away from the weekend, but I really like my job, so I'm okay with that. I know that not everyone is as lucky me to enjoy their jobs.

Keep this post in mind today, Mondays never did anything bad to you. Instead of looking at Mondays as the end of the weekend, look at Mondays as the beginning of a fresh week.
